Our review

The bottom line

Mistplay rewards you in units for playing newly discovered games. Its own disclosure says units have no stated cash value, that redemptions are capped at a total value of $550 a year, and that units expire after 180 days without logging in or earning.

Who it suits, and who should skip it

It suits students who already play mobile games and treat the rewards as a bonus. Skip it if you want a clear cash rate per hour, because Mistplay does not state one.

How you earn

You earn units by reaching checkpoints in games you newly discover through the app, completing promotions, sweepstakes and challenges, and keeping a daily streak. Each checkpoint pays a base amount multiplied by the game's unit multiplier. Your multiplier is personal to you and capped by your Loyalty Tier. Games you installed outside Mistplay earn nothing.

How you get paid

Open the Shop tab, pick a gift card or reward, check the email it is sent to, tap Buy and confirm. Mistplay says orders are approved within 48 hours, and you then get an email from a reward partner with the reward and instructions. If nothing arrives after 48 hours you can submit a request.

What to watch

Earning is capped at two hours of play per game per day. Earnings differ between users and can change, depending on your behaviour in the app, your location and partner limits. Gift card values may vary by user, provider and location.

Student notes

If you stop playing for a few months, log in or earn before the 180 days pass, or your units expire. Treat the $550 yearly cap as a ceiling, not a target.
